  ‘Last’ cockle man Dave Bartram cancer diagnosis after Nottingham attack

  … Fortunately and in true British spirit, to bounce back well and still as the ‘last’ Cockle Man! We hope to see him on his rounds for a good few years yet 🙂

    DJs and musicians have held a concert to raise funds for one of the UK’s “last” cockle men:

    Concert to aid Nottingham Cockle Man’s cancer treatment

    … Adam Stephenson, manager at the The Angel, said: “This is the first pub that Dave had a drink in 50 years ago. So it feels appropriate that we should do our bit for him and host this great evening of entertainment.”

    Luke Greenhill, who set up the event, said: “The cockle man is such a part of Nottingham. From my 10-year-old son to my 83-year-old grandma, everybody knows him…”

    Here’s to wish him well for a speedy recovery!

  The Last Fish Man Standing

  Dave “The Fish Man” Bartram is a legend around these parts. Turning 72 this November [2018], he walks from pub to pub selling various seafoods and tasty snacks from his basket, raising money for the charity Rainbows. He’s faced some adversity over the past year… we sat down with him in The Bell for a catch up…

  Nottingham’s legendary cockle man now has an NCT bus named after him

  … Nottingham’s only remaining cockle man was given a terrific surprise when his regular Green 10 double-decker bus turned up bearing his name.

  Dave Bartram, who started doing his rounds selling seafood across the city back in 1965, said he was “honoured” to have an NCT bus named after him…
