A Malt and Marrakesh
18/01/2012 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm
How can we not start the year with an unbeatable combination of two favourites from the previous year?
“X” marks the spot for 7:30pm at:
Malt Cross16 St James’s Street,
Nottingham, NG1 6FG
Phone: 0115 9411048
(The Malt Cross is through the small door directly opposite The Roebuck)
To thence sample the nearby 8pm delights of:
Restaurant – Marrakesh6 Chapel Bar
Nottingham, NG1 6JQ
Telephone: 0115 9473038
Later, no doubt we’ll venture onwards to another nearby venue until close of play… Ye Olde Bell? Or a return to the Cross for less ringing ears and more talk?
Just look out for the holy glow of Linux mags and geekie devices! 🙂
All welcome,
Cheers,
Martin

And a good meetup it was.
I think between us we sampled most of the Marrakesh menu. The food was
really excellent and all with very good service. To be visited again.
Over at the Malt Cross, we found a rather comfy sofa where certain of
the group were well on their way to other lands (Eva 😉 )…
Some of the topics covered included: “Silly associations” to help
remember names, virtual stuff, NTFS, Windows and Internet Explorer
compatibility, UEFI, SOFA, PITA, (MPAA, RIAA,) Wikipedia, music and music tastes,
Minecraft, Skyrim and how to trip into a few bugs, Super Tux Kart, Tux
Racer, animation physics, films special effects, web hosting, the
freedom of your own virtual machine in a data centre, websites, home
networks, VirginMedia SuperHubs, LAN partying, netbooks, and lots more…
Good to see Rich, Mike and Rory along, and good luck for various exams!
Cheers,
Martin
