I’ve been musing some time now for encrypting email such that noone and nothing can read the email other than the intended recipient…

Then comes the turgid detail of what happens in the inbetween…

A good recent reminder comes with a good brief briefing in our dear El Reg:

Which gives the reminder that one option is that we could all just have our very own individual private email servers all to ourselves… All well and good for the very aware very few… But not so useful for the wider public.

Note also we have the Lavabit effect to consider whereby XKCD succinctly sums up one particular authoritarian feature…
