Terminal Multiplexers and beyond

16/07/2015 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

When one terminal session just isn’t enough information overload!

Multiplexers perform a variety of related functions allowing you to be more productive in the terminal, manage more complicated worflows and ease the pain of all those disparate connections.

This will be a more “hands-on” workshop than a true talk with a (hopefully) functional server; so bring a device with telnet or SSH capabilities if you want to play along.

On offer will be:

and beyond:

and otherwise

Everyone welcome!

    tmux: Read all about it!

    The Tao of tmux

This is a prerelease version of The Tao of tmux. The intended release date is January 22nd, 2017…

Pretty much all my friends swear to using tmux

… You do not need a book to use or understand tmux. But if there is a book, let this be the one…

…but if you want a technical manual, the manpage for tmux is quite sufficient in this regard.

A word to absolute beginners: do not feel you need to grasp the concepts of command line and terminal multiplexing in a single sitting. You have the choice of picking out concepts of tmux that you like according to your needs or curiosities…

Looks like a good read for a very useful tool for working in terminals. Go FLOSS and prosper!
