Qubes OS/Distro Demonstration
To start the evening talks, we have at 8pm Vadim giving a demonstration and Q&A of Qubes: Wikipedia: Qubes OS - a security-focused desktop operating system heavily utilizing virtualization Qubes main site: An Introduction to Qubes OS All welcome! :-) Just look for the penguins huddled around our own cyberspace!! ;-) (Or ask the friendly bar staff.) Around Christmas
Folks, Following recent tradition, we have oncemore for our Christmas meeting places reserved at The Royal Standard Place of The Roundhouse. Folks, Boris and myself will be in our favoured Organ Grinder to run through backups and some practical Linux tweaking. Great things come to pass... Is this The year for Linux? We've had multiple anniversaries, leap seconds, various happenings, and a number of FLOSS prophecies have come to fruition. We have also seen some tyrannical perversions of everyone's long-fought-for liberties by some powerful commercial and political forces seizing parts of our cyber world (and the users thus entrapped?)... Freedom, fun, commercialization, politics? Where does the balance lie? Whatever next? There are lots of fun stories to be told.…

An Old Angel
The Old Angel is now new again, reborn as the Angel Microbrewery. How could we not try this out?... So, new for the New Year, we have for our first social of 2017: An earlier than usual 6:00pm start for a mini-backups-and-install geek-fest ;-) Our more normal time to start is a 7:30pm start for pre-food beer; We then stay there for food also!
