DESCRIPTION:The Hand and Heart is one of the more unusual venues in Nottingham\, being partly built into the caves near the castle. Whilst we intend to kick-off at 1930 as usual\, you may wish to arrive early and have some of the rather excellent food they have on offer in the restaurant. \nThere’s no big talk planned\, more just a general discussion on recent happenings. Topics could include: \n\nWhy SSH beats your VPN into a cocked hat.\nThe BBC hates freedom (as does ITV\, Channel 4\, Channel 5\, Sky….)\nHow to (maybe) make a Pi run fasterer for not much. Reliably (maybe) even fastererer for a smidge more.\nThe ‘best’ to approach the coming switch from Upstart to systemd that will affect Ubuntu and derivative users.\nGetting announcements out in a timely manner/boosting membership.\nAn argument about why systemd is better.\n\nNo it isn’t.\nYes it is.\nNo it isn’t\, it’s monolithic and doesn’t follow the Unix way.\nNeither do many things and systemd is modular – so shut-up.\nRight you\, outside!\n\n\nHow to upload amusing ‘minor fracas’ videos to YouTube.\n\n(Last two items are not guaranteed) \nIn case you have not been paying attention – note the changed venue!
