SUMMARY:Exploring the 'Super' of Supercomputers
DESCRIPTION:Superlatives aside… What essence of ‘super’ does it take to make a “supercomputer”? \n  \nThis is a fun non-expert friendly voyage through the ages and technology to compare and contrast various worlds of computation and information manipulation. \n\nFrom the highly parallel data processing capabilities of the humble snail racing against the technical marvel of the Raspberry Pi\,\nvisiting the Colossus giants of the recent past to the quantum miniaturization of the indeterminate present.\nAll through to some of the perhaps not so wild dreams of Asimov\, Douglas Adams\, Terry Pratchett and others…\nWith brief comment on the latest Marketing hype of “Big Data” and the supposed “AI is everything”.\n\n\nBeer may help but is not essential 😉 \n  \nAnd Linux ‘just happens’ to run all of the world’s top (general purpose) supercomputers… 😛 \n  \n  \nAll at our usual favored friendly venue 🙂 \nAll welcome! Just look for the Linux and Penguins 🙂 \nCheers\,\nMartin
